Genetically Engineered Canola
Genetically Engineered Canola (GE Canola) is canola (rapeseed) that has had their DNA modified via genetic engineering. Varieties of GE soybeans that contain more than one trait are referred to as "stacked." Most GE canola is herbicide tolerant canola. Other varieties of GE canola include:
- Calgene (Monsanto): Oil Profile Altered Rapeseed
- AgrEvo (Bayer CropScience): Male Sterile (Terminator), Glufosinate Tolerant Canola (MS8), deregulated in the U.S. in March 1999.
- AgrEvo (Bayer CropScience): Fertility Restored, Glufosinate Tolerant Canola (RF3), deregulated in the U.S. in March 1999.
- Aventis CropScience (Bayer CropScience): Male Sterile (Terminator), Glufosinate Tolerant Canola (MS1), deregulated in the U.S. in December 2002.
- Aventis CropScience (Bayer CropScience): Fertility Restored, Glufosinate Tolerant Canola (RF1 and RF2), deregulated in the U.S. in December 2002.
