Festus Gontebanye Mogae (born August 21, 1939) was the President of Botswana from 1998 untio 2008. "He succeeded Quett Masire as President in 1998.
"Mogae studied economics in the United Kingdom, first at the University of Sussex and then at the University of Oxford. He returned to Botswana to work as a civil servant before taking up posts with the International Monetary Fund and the Bank of Botswana. He was vice-president of Botswana from 1992 to 1998." [1] wiki
Mogae won the 2008 Ibrahim Prize for Achievement in African Leadership, and will receive US$ 5 million over 10 years and US$ 200,000 annually for life thereafter.
