David B. Smith

David B. Smith is chief economist at stockbrokers Williams de Broe, and Acting Chairman of the Institute of Economic Affairs' Shadow Monetary Policy Committee.

He campaigns against taxes, and is a member of the advisory council of the Tax Payers Alliance. He has advocated the use of a "Tax Freedom Day" as a useful media tool, along the same lines as that promoted by the Tax Foundation in the USA.
