Biographical Information
"Darren was appointed a non-executive director in 2009. He is Chairman of Poundland Group plc and Maplin Electricals Limited as well as being a non-executive director and Chairman of the Audit Committee of Wolseley plc. Previously, he was Chief Executive of Carpetright plc between 2012 and 2013 having joined as a non-executive director in 2011. Prior to this he was Chief Financial Officer and Group Development Director of J Sainsbury plc from 2005 to 2011 as well as being Chairman of Sainsburys Bank. Before this he was Group Finance Director of Carpetright plc (2002-2005) and Finance Director of Superdrug Stores plc (2002-2002) and held a number of senior financial and operational roles with Arcadia Group (1988-2000).
