Daniel Cohen (media producer)
Daniel Cohen "is the president of Dan Cohen & Sons, LLC, an independent production company that he founded in 1999. The company specializes in original, award-winning television for reality, adventure, travel, cooking and character-driven documentaries and series. The company has created programming for leading chefs and writers such as Bobby Flay, Ruth Reichl, Mario Batali and Anthony Bourdain. Previously, Mr. Cohen was senior vice president of advertising for The New York Times from 1996 to 1999. During his fifteen years at The Times he was also the vice president of advertising, group director of promotion, managing director of business development and held positions in corporate planning and circulation. Early in his career he spent five years as an on-air television journalist in Orlando, FL. He has a background in oceanography (and theater) and works closely with Sylvia Earle, the renowned oceanographer who does work with Conservation International. He just recently purchased two submarines to be used by researchers to study the ocean. His current appointments include: Overseer at Tufts University (his alma mater), board member of Children for Children, and the Chairman's Council at Conservation International." [1]
