The Democratic Left Front was formed as an anti-capitalist front in South Africa. It was formed at the Conference for a Democratic Left held in Johannesburg in January 2011. wiki The first day of the opening conference on 20 January 2011 was opened by Phumi Mtetwa and Mercia Andrews. Other people to lead sessions included Lungelo Yozi of TAC, Irene Leon, Dale McKinley, Nancy Castro-Leal , and "Hillary Wainright, well known socialist activist and author spoke about the experiences of left regroupment worldwide and wished the Conference success in pursuing this cause." "Comrade Vishwas Satgar gave a rousing speech that really set the tone of the conference." [1]
