The Coalfield Communities Group exists 'to promote awareness amongst MPs of issues facing former coalfield communities; to ensure a fair deal for UK mined coal; to support regeneration of coalfield areas and former coalfield areas; and to raise the profile of environmental issues affecting former coalfield areas'
