For 38 years, he was the Principal of Charles Edward Jewellers, one of Australia’s leading specialist retail and wholesale outlets with international links in Europe, Middle East and USA. He also acted as an advisor to the Government of Vietnam on the development of that country’s gemstone mining and cutting industry. Charles moved to India in August, 2002 and ever since has been actively liaisoning with various Government Departments and providing support and guidance to progress the development of gold exploration and mining industry in India. He was appointed to the Board of our company in July 2002." [1]

"Educated at Cheam and Bedales schools in England, Charles subsequently attended Lincoln College in New Zealand, completing his studies in 1961.

"Charles is a highly regarded member of the jewellery profession. He founded Charles Edward Jewellers in 1963, one of Australia's leading specialist gem retail and wholesale establishments. In the 1980s he established the first factory and training programme for the faceting and polishing of rubies in Hanoi, Vietnam.

"Charles has had a strong involvement in mineral exploration in Australia and overseas for several decades and was the Founding Director and Promoter of Australian public companies, Auridiam N.L. and Moonstone Mines N.L and also the Canadian company Redaurum Ltd. Due to his extensive knowledge and contacts in the business world, he has been instrumental in initiating many of these companies' joint ventures and widening their international investor base. In particular, he was responsible for the opening of the first diamond mines in Zimbabwe and USA (Colorado).

"In addition to being a Founding Director of Paramount Mining Corporation Ltd, Charles is also Chairman of Australian Indian Resources Private Limited, which he founded in 1994. He is currently involved in developing a number of mining projects in India, where he is now based and has recently listed Deccan Gold Mines Limited, the first gold exploration company on the Bombay Stock Exchange."
