Campbell Soup
Campbell Soup Company, based in New Jersey, U.S., is the world's largest soup maker with a 70% share of the U.S. market. It also makes V8 juice, Pepperridge Farm cookies, Franco-American canned pasta, and Godiva chocolate. In Australia, it makes snack food and the popular "down-under" Arnott's biscuit brand. The company was started 1869 by Joseph Campbell and Abraham Anderson in Camden, New Jersey. In 1897, John T. Dorrance invented condensed soup by eliminating water to lower packaging and shipping costs. The descendants of John Dorrance now own about 43% of the company. [1] [2]
