Bob Accarino "is Director, Global Environmental Affairs for Abbott. Mr. Accarino joined Abbott in 1997. He is responsible for providing overall direction for Abbott's environmental commitment to global citizenship through policy development, strategic planning, outreach programs, and partnerships. Since November, 2006, Mr. Accarino has provided strategic advice to Chicago 2016, developing their strategy for sustainability programs designed to support Chicago's bid to win the 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Before joining Abbott, Mr. Accarino was Director, Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) Programs for BFGoodrich's aerospace businesses. Mr. Accarino originally joined BFGoodrich in 1977 as a chemical process engineer. He moved into the environmental field in 1980 and advanced into increasing responsible positions within BFGoodrich's EHS organization. Mr. Accarino received a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering/Engineering and Public Policy from Carnegie-Mellon University in 1977. In 1988, he received a law degree (J.D.) from the University of Akron. He is Chairman of the Board of the Global Environmental Management Initiative (GEMI), and a Board member of the World Environment Center and Keep Chicago Beautiful. He has two children, Alison and Brad and resides in Evanston, Illinois with his wife SunJu." [1]
