Blackthorn Medical Centre is owned by the Blackthorn Trust "and part of it rented to the Practice. It was built in 1991 as a result of the generosity and hard work of patients, their families and friends, local and national industry, grant making trusts and the National Health Service." "They may be prescribed anthroposophic or homeopathic medication and one of a number of anthroposophic therapies which are available on a one-to-one or group basis. These include biographical counselling, eurythmy therapy, rhythmical massage or art therapy. Therapies are offered at the discretion of the doctor.

"Funding the Trust The Trust is partially funded by the NHS, but needs to raise an additional £100,000 p.a. to cover its running costs. This is activated by grants, donations, bequests and fund raising activities. Patients, their families and friends are asked to help on all fronts to help achieve this task." [1]

Their 2006 Annual newsletter noted: "The Trust has very good connections with the NHS in spite of its ever changing local Primary Care Trust which with Jane Vaughan’s help is generously funded our all-year-round bed at Park Attwood Clinic." They also thanked the Breed Foundation for support; and said that Cristina D'Agostino will now lead the counselling joined by Carol Bridges. Their biographical counselor Bons Voors left that year.
