The Association of Professional Political Consultants, the peak body for PR professionals and lobbyists in the UK, stated on its website in 2006 that it:
- "...was set up ten years ago in September 1994 with just five members. That group of lobbyists was keen to refurbish the industry’s then somewhat tarnished reputation by setting and maintaining the highest standards of ethical conduct."[1]
