Consumers for Cable Choice describe themselves as "an alliance of consumer organizations across the nation committed to the development of a competitive, vibrant cable communications market" but is in actual fact an astroturf organization. Consumer For Cable Choice president Bob Johnson is an Indiana lawyer who also represents nearly two-dozen telecom firms. [1]

Funding

"Bob Johnson, the president of Consumers for Cable Choice, acknowledged having received $75,000 in startup funds from Verizon this summer and "a commensurate amount" from SBC." [2]
