Lawrence S. Wittner
Lawrence Wittner "is a Professor of History and director of the History graduate program at State University of New York, Albany. He serves on the national boards of the Peace History Society and Peace Action (the largest peace organization in the United States) and was previously President of the Peace History Society. Professor Wittner earned an AB from Columbia College, an MA in History from the University of Wisconsin and a Ph.D. in History from Columbia University.
"Professor Wittner's main interests lie in U.S.-Global Engagement, nuclear arms control and disarmament and peace movements. Professor Wittner has an extensive portfolio of published material on war and peace issues, especially on peace movements and on nuclear arms control and disarmament. His books include: Rebels Against War: The American Peace Movement 1933-1983; American Intervention in Greece, 1943-1949; One World or None: A History of the World Nuclear Disarmament Movement Through 1953.; Resisting the Bomb: A History of the World Nuclear Disarmament Movement 1954-1970; Toward Nuclear Abolition: A History of the World Nuclear Disarmament Movement 1971 to the Present; and Peace Action: Past, Present and Future."
