The Republican National Convention for the U.S. presidential election, 2004, will be held from August 30 to September 2, 2004, at New York City's Madison Square Garden.

This year the convention was pushed back by one month; the 2000 Republican National Convention started July 29th, 2000. The later date will allow the Republicans to exploit the convention's proximity to the anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks on New York City to bolster their political prospects.
