Kirk Blalock was an employee of Philip Morris Corporate Affairs Department. In February 1999 he was Manager of Public Affairs for PM.[1] In 2001, Blalock was Deputy Director of the Office of Public Liaison in the George W. Bush Administration, and he was an aide to Bush's political advisor Karl Rove. He was paid $70,000/year in salary.[2][3]
Biography
Kirk Blalock was involved with Philip Morris' corporate contributions. Think tanks sent requests for funding to Blalock. Funding requests typically ranged from $50,000 to $200,000. Organizations PM favored needed only write a one or two-line letter requesting the funding they sough and send it to Kirk Blalock for approval.[4] [5][6]
