Discovery Communications Inc (DCI) describes itself as "the leading global real-world media and entertainment company".
DCI produces channels such as BBC America, Animal Planet, Travel Channel, Discovery Health Channel, Discovery Kids, and, in partnership with the New York Times, the Discovery Times Channel.
In December 2004 it was revealed that it would launch The Military Channel.
