Journalist

Literally, one who writes for a journal. The term has a connotation of a striving for accuracy, but the perception of continued manipulation of the largest media outlets has caused it to be eroded. Since the turn of the millennium and the panic and fear caused by the destruction of the World Trade Center, the manipulation has been particularly flagrant.
