On February 6, 2004, President George W. Bush named Richard C. Levin (Rick) to the Commission on the Intelligence Capabilities of the United States Regarding Weapons of Mass Destruction.
According to the February 7, 2004, edition of the New York Times, "Richard C. Levin, 56, has been the president of Yale University, President Bush's alma mater, since 1993. A Democrat, he received a bachelor's degree from Stanford University, studied politics and philosophy at Oxford University, where he became friends with Bill Clinton, and earned a doctorate in economics from Yale in 1974. He also serves on the National Academy of Sciences' board on science technology and economic policy."
