The Healthcare Leadership Council (HLC) is funded by a coalition of Members of the HLC – hospitals, health plans, pharmaceutical companies, medical device manufacturers, biotech firms, health product distributors, pharmacies and academic health centers.
The organization's stated mission is "improving the affordability, innovation, and quality of American health care - already the best in the world."
Comprised entirely of CEOs, the council is a policy advocacy organization promoting accessible, affordable, market-based health care. It is active on a variety of issues including coverage for the uninsured, Medicare reform, medical liability reform, patient safety and health information technology.
