Dr. Sullivan served as president of Morehouse School of Medicine from 1981 to 1989 and from 1993 to 2002. From 1989 to 1993, Dr. Sullivan was Secretary of [[HHS]]. Dr. Sullivan also serves on the boards of directors of [[United Therapeutics]] Corporation, [[BioSante Pharmaceuticals]], [[Inhibitex]], Inc. and [[Henry Schein]], Inc., publicly traded biotechnology companies. He is a founder and chairman of [[Medical Education for South African Blacks]], Inc., a trustee of Morehouse School of Medicine and [[Africare]] and a director of the [[National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse]] at Columbia University.
