"In 2005, Jan E. Boyer was nominated by President George W. Bush and confirmed by the US Senate as United States Alternate Executive Director of the Inter-American Development Bank.

"Mr. Boyer has 20 years’ experience in international finance and entrepreneurship. He had chief executive responsibility for private equity initiatives at [[Softbank]], [[FleetBoston]], and [[Salomon Smith Barney]], with activities in seven countries. He has substantial operating, restructuring, and turnaround experience in growth and mature companies. While at Lehman Brothers, Mr. Boyer worked on principal investing, merger and acquisition, corporate finance, and government advisory transactions in the United States, Europe, Latin America, Asia, and Africa. He has also served on both corporate and nonprofit boards.
