Entropy problem, with Stop AB32 initiative

CShearer19 and Bob Burton, we've got an entropy problem - there are now (at least) 3 places regarding the upcoming initiative. There should only be one. 1. CShearer19 has done a section on it at Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006; 2. it turns out to have a page that Bob Burton started at The California Jobs Initiative; and 3. I did one - not realizing Burton had started that one - at Suspend AB 32 (2010)

IMO the page shouldn't be called "ca jobs initiative' since the official name is:

Suspends Air Pollution Control Laws Requiring Major Polluters To Report And Reduce Greenhouse Gas Emissions That Cause Global Warming Until Unemployment Drops Below Specified Level For Full Year Initiative

Wiki formatting examples

Hi, here's an example of a redirect Hay Road Power Plant.

and here's an example of using the [citation needed] tags; see here. cheers --Bob Burton 20:49, 24 August 2009 (EDT)

Repeating refs

Hi again. There's a little trick you can use for where one reference is repeated a number of times on a page. See here. The benefit is that when the references are displayed, there is just one full reference displayed. cheers --Bob Burton 00:10, 4 September 2009 (EDT)

Great. Thank you Bob!

Two Aurora's!

Hi, I checked the annual report of Aurora Energy (the predominantly hydro-based utility in Tasmania -- where I live) which made no mention of having any overseas operations and I've never heard of them being involved in a coal-fired station in Alaska. The clue is the the Alaskan Aurora Energy is an LLC while the Tasmanian Aurora Energy is a Pty Ltd company. So I have re-arranged the pages to reflect this.--Bob Burton 20:23, 6 September 2009 (EDT)

Two minor things

Hi - two minor points:

  • the way the wiki software works it won't display the url as a live link but with the addition of the http:// it will ie
  • where a media release or report is capitalised, I know it is easiest just to cut and paste it across as is, but it makes the references look a little messier. So I have converted one to lower case so you can see -- see here. cheers, --Bob Burton 23:57, 10 September 2009 (EDT)

Standardising rated power output

Hi, I note that on the Gulf Power page the generating capacity of the plants are in hundreds of thousands of kilowatts while most pages express the capacity in megawatts. I think we should standardise on the latter so the table on the Gulf Power page should be amended accordingly. cheers --Bob Burton 23:17, 19 September 2009 (EDT)

Redirects and move

Hi - if you decide that an existing article really should be under a new name and the existing article page become the redirect, it is best if you use the "move" function. (Move shifts the page to the new name location and preserves the original page edit history intact whereas it is lost if if copy from the existing page to a new page). I have upgraded you to sysop so that you have access to the "move" function. I'll send you an email after I've finished reviewing the recent changes about some of your new powers. cheers --Bob Burton 14:36, 26 October 2009 (EDT)

List of Australian mines

This report from the USGS contians a table listing all the Australian coal mines: I'm wondering if USGS issues similar reports on other countries. Bob Burton used the to create a long list of mines in Australia and coal. --Tednace 00:09, 2 November 2009 (EST)

Hello, I saw you'd done all the work on the Climategate article. Just wanted to let you know I've made a lot of changes lately, including removal of some internal/external sources that appeared unrelated. I also couldn't find verification for the last paragraph in the lede (the NYT article sourcing it didn't mention the fact or the person referenced), and I removed something mentioning opponents of government regulation. Otherwise though, I made some good sections on a timeline of events with sourcing. You did a pretty good job though on the email content stuff and the summary, this is just a courtesy notice letting you know of those deletions in case you want to discuss anything on the article talk page. --Jzyehoshua 04:13, 28 May 2010 (UTC)

I have started to merge the various Sipat pages but have to go out now for a few hours ... will finish it off when I'm back online later today. cheers --Bob Burton 19:51, 16 January 2012 (UTC)

Polnad navbar

Hi Christine,

I have created a navbar for polish coal pages, Many of the European pages either have no navbar or only the generic Europe and coal one. I figure we may as well take the opportunity to create/add national coal navbars to the pages as we work our way through them. If a page has the Europe and coal navbar I think it is better to substitute a national navbar ... here's the code {{#badges: CoalSwarm|Navbar-Polandandcoal}} Could you add this to the Polish pages you edit. I'll send a note to the others too but figure since you are online I'd drop you a note now. cheers --Bob Burton (talk) 15:41, 27 September 2012 (EDT)

OK - thanks Bob! - Christine
