My name is Beth Daley and I'm the Director of Investigations for the Project On Government Oversight, an independent nonpartisan nonprofit that investigates and exposes corruption and other misconduct in order to achieve a more accountable federal government. I conduct and oversee investigative research into defense contractor fraud, whistleblower retaliation, oil industry fraud, homeland security failures, excessive government secrecy, and financial conflicts of interest. As part of my work with POGO I've been working on the U.S. federal oil and gas royalties article on Congresspedia. I'm specifically interested in the scandals in the Interior Department related to the underpayment of royalties to the government by oil companies.
