Tonya Schuitmaker is a Republican member of the State Senate in Michigan. She represents the 20th District and serves on the following committees: Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Higher Education (Chair), Senate Judiciary Committee (Vice Chair), Senate Health Policy Committee (Vice Chair), Senate Appropriations subcommittees on Capital Outlay (Vice Chair), Community Colleges, Judiciary and the Senate Appropriations Committee.[1]

Schuitmaker is the Michigan State Chairman of the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC), as of 2011.[2]
