Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide is one of the world's largest hotel companies, located in some 100 countries. Its brands are St. Regis, The Luxury Collection, W Hotels, Westin, Le Meridien, Sheraton, and Four Points by Sheraton. In 2011 the company posted revenues of $5,624,000,000.[1] In 2006, it had sales of nearly $6 billion and profits of $1 billion.[2][3]

In September 2016, the company was acquired by Marriott International.

Ties to Pete Peterson's "Fix the Debt"

The Campaign to Fix the Debt is the latest incarnation of a decades-long effort by former Nixon man turned Wall Street billionaire Pete Peterson to slash earned benefit programs such as Social Security and Medicare under the guise of fixing the nation's "debt problem." Starwood Hotels is part of the Campaign to Fix the Debt as of February 2013.
