"On February 20, two more Paul, Weiss clients were released from Guantánamo Bay, Cuba, to their home country of Saudi Arabia. The clients and their families were immensely grateful to the firm for its efforts on their behalf. Of the firm's original 13 clients, five have been transferred back to Saudi Arabia, where they were briefly incarcerated and then released. The Paul, Weiss team, consisting of litigators Martin Flumenbaum, Julia Tarver Mason, Jennifer Ching, Jana Ramsey, Marcus Cave and Sarah Jackel, and paralegals Smriti Kodandapani and David Nolte, continues to work tirelessly for the release of the eight remaining Paul, Weiss clients." Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison has long been a law firm for Brown & Williamson Tobacco Corp. in New York. They sat in on the Rose Defrancesco Cipollone trial.(Jenkins, pp. 180-181) The law firm also helped B&W deal with the controversy surrounding their Barclay cigarette brand in the early 1980s.[2]
