Media Monitoring Project Zimbabwe "is an independent Trust that works to promote responsible journalism in Zimbabwe. This is achieved through monitoring and analysis of news and current affairs on radio, television andthe print media." [1]
"The project is a joint initiative of three organizations: the Zimbabwe chapter of the Media Institute of Southern Africa (MISA), the Catholic Commission for Justice and Peace in Zimbabwe (CCJPZ) and Article 19. The project focuses primarily on media outlets financed from private funds that are often subject to censorship. Site offers general information, detailed information about the monitoring procedures, reports, newsletter and publications (can be ordered on-line)." [2]
In 2000 they produced an election watching booklet for IMPACS. "This booklet was drafted by Media Monitoring Project Zimbabwe, whose work is funded by the Norwegian International Development Agency, NORAD, and the Open Society Initiative for Southern Africa. Much of the material in it is drawn from the publications of two organizations: the International Federation of Journalists and ARTICLE 19, the International Centre Against Censorship."
