Use of Video News Releases and/or Satellite Media Tours
In the 6pm news bulletin on February 22, 2006 the station broadcast an edited and re-voiced version of a video news release (VNR) produced by D S Simon Productions for Bioibérica promoting a nutritional supplement for treating joint pain from osteoarthritis. The television station used the VNR but in a story that was critical of the company's product. [1]
The station was documented airing a video news release by the Center for Media and Democracy, in its November 2006 report "Still Not the News: Stations Overwhelmingly Fail to Disclose VNRs. [2]
