Jones, Day, Reavis & Pogue is a major international law firm and a major tobacco industry agent. Also, according to the website, their Antitrust & Competition Law Practice is "recognized in professional publications and rankings as one of the leading antitrust/competition practices in the world." Jones Day readily touts their antitrust lawyers previous positions with enforcement agencies worldwide. [1]

During the fall of 2004, Jones Day co-sponsored, along with the Federalist Society for Law and Public Policy Studies, "a series of two luncheons on the modernization of antitrust law." Acknowledging the establishment of the Antitrust Modernization Commission, with a three-year mission to examine the need to modernize the antitrust laws, the panel was to "discuss the current state of antitrust law and practice and what, if anything requires 'modernization'."
