John C. Snyder "founded Snyder Oil Corporation in 1977 and served as chairman and CEO until its merger in 1999 to form Santa Fe Snyder Corporation. He served as Chairman of Santa Fe Snyder until its merger in 2000 with Devon Energy Corporation and his retirement from the company." [1]

Snyder has served as Chairman of Snyder Operating Company LLC, an investment company, since June 2000 and as a director the Texas Capital Bancshares, Inc. since June 1999. Snyder "also currently serves as a director of SOCO International plc, a UK oil and gas exploration company and advisory director of 4D Global Energy Advisors, a French private equity company, focused on international energy investments." Previously, he was a director and the Executive Vice President of May Petroleum, Inc. where he served from 1971 to 1973.
