James Whelan, "co-director of the Change Agency, is an activist educator and community organiser with twenty years social movement experience. After completing his doctoral study which identified and evaluated strategies for education and training for community activists James spent six years as a lecturer and action researcher with Griffith University. James has combined his academic and advocacy interests as a campaigner, board member, volunteer and action researcher with social movement groups including Friends of the Earth, Greenpeace, the Queensland Conservation Council, The Wilderness Society and Amnesty International. He has published widely in academic and activist literature on environmental policy, governance, advocacy and education." [1]
