James R. O'Neill

"As corporate vice president and president of Northrop Grumman Information Technology (IT), James R. O’Neill directs one of the world’s premier providers of advanced IT, engineering, and business solutions for government and commercial clients. With estimated 2006 revenue of approximately $4 billion, Northrop Grumman IT, which is headquartered in McLean, Va., employs more than 18,500 people worldwide with expertise in such areas as homeland security solutions, secure wireless, cyber and physical security, IT and network infrastructure, managed services, knowledge management, modeling and simulation, and geospatial intelligence solutions.

"In addition, Mr. O’Neill is responsible for Northrop Grumman Corporation’s IT shared service organization, which manages and implements enterprise solutions in partnership with the company’s corporate office. The IT shared service organization is led by the Northrop Grumman Corporation chief information officer, who reports to Mr. O’Neill.

"Mr. O’Neill has been a leading executive in the technology industry for more than 25 years. He has extensive senior management experience with emphasis on intelligence, networks and electronics.

"Mr. O’Neill joined Northrop Grumman in 2002 as president of TASC, Inc., an IT sector business unit. He was responsible for matters pertaining to the development and customization of products and services provided to the U.S. government and commercial customers. In addition, early in 2003, Mr. O’Neill became president of Northrop Grumman IT’s Computing Systems business unit.

"Before joining Northrop Grumman, Mr. O’Neill served as senior vice president and general manager of Oracle Services Industries, where he led the company’s sales and consulting groups in the worldwide communications and utilities sectors. Revenues exceeded $1 billion. Earlier, Mr. O’Neill was an officer of Lucent Technologies and was president of its Government Solutions business unit. Mr. O’Neill was also vice president and general manager of Digital Equipment Corporation's Federal Government Region. In that role, he was responsible for the management and growth of Digital’s government business worldwide. Early in his career, Mr. O’Neill held positions within the federal divisions of Sanders Associates.

"Mr. O’Neill serves as the 2007 chairman of the Professional Services Council, for which he previously served as vice chairman, and is a board member of the Northern Virginia Technology Council and the Security Affairs Support Association. He was named 2006 Government Contractor Executive of the Year by the Northern Virginia GovCon Council, Professional Services Council and Washington Technology in the large business category.

"He has a bachelor’s degree from St. Anselm College, N.H., and has attended executive management programs worldwide." [1]
