GEES is a "non-profit association, private and non-partisan, that conducts research and analysis on international security and defense issues." [1]

GEES -- the acronym for El Grupo de Estudios Estratégicos (Spanish) or The Group for Strategic Studies (English) -- "was founded in 1987 with the purpose of unifying and promoting the work of a group of professionals devoted to strategic studies. Many people from different walks of life - academia, military, private entrepreneurs and liberal professions - have joined GEES." [2]

GEES is affiliated with conservative and neoconservative groups -- Project for the New American Century, American Enterprise Institute, Foundation for the Defense of Democracies, Center for Security Policy, and Middle East Forum -- and publications -- The Weekly Standard, FrontPage Magazine, and LibertadDigital -- all of which are linked to the GEES website.
