Edward T. (Ed) McMullen, Jr. is President of the Columbia, South Carolina-based "free market" [1] South Carolina Policy Council (SC Policy Council) conservative think tank [2], as well as President of the South Carolina Policy Council Education Foundation, "South Carolina's only research and education foundation devoted to promoting the principles of limited government and free enterprise in Palmetto State public policy. McMullen has been on the Policy Council staff since l989," according to his State Policy Network profile.

McMullen was previously employed by the Free Congress Foundation [3] and served as "the Director of Development Research at the Heritage Foundation in Washington, D.C." [4]

McMullen is "also the Chairman of McMullen Holdings, a family owned venture capital L.L.C." [5]

McMullen served two full terms, from August 2002 to August 2006, on the South Carolina Centers of Economic Excellence Review Board. [6]

McMullen was interviewed for the documentary film "Corridor of Shame. The Neglect of South Carolina's Rural Schools." [7]

"McMullen is a graduate of Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia where he earned a Bachelors Degree in Political Science. He has played a role in several national campaigns, as well as statewide campaigns in Virginia and South Carolina." [8]
