Mission Starement:To produce research that contributes to understanding economic and social change and that informs public policymaking and civil society in Ireland and throughout the European Union.
Funding
In it's own words : As an independent think tank, the ESRI depends on income from commissioned research & consultancy;membership contributions; corporate sponsorship; sale of publications. While the Institute receives some guaranteed financial assistance from the Irish government by way of grant in aid, this covers only 30% of its costs. [1] Total income in 2009 was €14.5 million.[2] The Institute does not disclose the identity of it's Corporate sponsors.
