Biographical Information

"David North joined Tesco as Government Affairs Director in February 2002, adding Corporate Responsibility to his area in 2004. Since 2006, as Community and Government Director, he has led the development of Tesco's Community Plan, and its implementation across the Tesco business in the UK and internationally. As part of this work, he leads Tesco's climate change strategy and its programme to cut emissions in its own operations, in collaboration with businesses in its supply chain and through consumer empowerment.

"Before joining Tesco, David was Private Secretary to the Prime Minister and a Senior Policy Advisor at 10 Downing Street. He is a trustee of the Institute of Grocery Distribution, a member of the CBI Climate Change Board and sits on the Strategic Management Board of the Sustainable Consumption Institute at Manchester University. David is Corporate Affairs Director, Tesco UK, but continues to lead on climate change for the Tesco Group." [1]
