Commercial Alert is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) advocacy group in the United States whose mission is "to keep the commercial culture within its proper sphere, and to prevent it from exploiting children and subverting the higher values of family, community, environmental integrity and democracy." [1] It has campaigned against advertising in public schools and supports a "Parents Bill of Rights" that would "keep corporations from meddling in the relationship between parents and children" by restricting advertising to children.

Commercial Alert has also called on the U.S. Federal Communications Commission to require disclosure of product placements on TV, and it has joined other consumer groups in criticizing the direct-to-consumer marketing tactics of the pharmaceutical industry.

Commercial Alert is a member of the Business Ethics Network and profiled in the WiserEarth database here.
