Catherine Livingstone

Catherine Livingstone was appointmented as CSIRO Board Chairman in 2001. She is also a director of: Macquarie Bank Ltd, Telstra Corporation, and the neoliberal think tank the Sydney Institute. Ms Livingstone also works for The Australian Business Foundation and has served on the Board of Goodman Fielder Ltd and Rural Press Ltd.

"After receiving a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Accounting from Macquarie University, Ms Livingstone spent several years in Sydney and London with chartered accounting firm Price Waterhouse. She then worked for Protector Safety Industries Ltd, part of the OPSM Group, before moving in 1983 to Nucleus Ltd, which later became a division of Pacific Dunlop Ltd.

"Ms Livingstone attended the IMD International, Programme for Executive Development in Switzerland in 1992, and was the Eisenhower Exchange Foundation Fellow for Australia in 1999.

"Ms Livingstone received The Chartered Accountant in Business Award in 2000 and a Centenary Medal in 2003 and was elected as a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering in 2002." [1]

Prior to that she was the Chief Executive, Finance at Nucleus Limited and before that held a variety of finance and accounting roles including having been with chartered accountants, Price Waterhouse, for several years.
