Bernadette Barker-Plummer

Bernadette Barker-Plummer "received her Ph.D. from the Annenberg School for Communication at the University of Pennsylvania in 1997. Her research interests are in media, social movements, and social change. Some of her work can be found in Critical Studies in Mass Communication, Journalism Quarterly, and Peace Review. Barker-Plummer coordinates the University of San Francisco Media Group (USFMG), an interdisciplinary group of faculty and students working on media and social justice issues. Current USFMG projects include a cross cultural analysis of news magazine coverage of the Iraq War, and a field study of the impact of news media deregulation on community politics." [1]
