Barbara Barrett "has been involved in international business and aviation for over 25 years. Before she was 30 she was an officer and executive of two Fortune 500 companies. Through her career, Mrs. Barrett has applied her legal and business experience as President and CEO of a multimillion-dollar business and on the boards of companies – from small start ups to multibillion-dollar global giants.

"Currently, Mrs. Barrett is President of Triple Creek Guest Ranch, a small luxury resort in Montana. She serves on the corporate Boards of Raytheon, Exponent Inc. and Valley Bank of Arizona, where she is Chairman of the Board.

"In the 1980's, Mrs. Barrett became Vice Chairman of the United States Civil Aeronautics Board where she negotiated aviation agreements with Great Britain, China, Poland, Ireland, Peru, the Philippines, Jamaica and many other countries. Later, as the first woman Deputy Administrator of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), she worked on technical aviation matters with U.S. and worldwide aviation leaders.

"During the 1990's, Mrs. Barrett served as President and CEO of the American Management Association, a $300 million worldwide management enterprise headquartered in New York City. Later, she was a teaching Fellow at Harvard University's Institute of Politics. In July 1999 under a Harvard/Oxford program, Mrs. Barrett taught young political leaders at the Moscow School of Political Studies in Russia. She participated on a 10 member delegation conducting a U.N. fact finding mission to Bulgaria, Slovakia, Bosnia-Herzegovina and other Southeast European countries.

"In addition to service on the Board of Center for International Private Enterprise, Mrs. Barrett is Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Thunderbird, The American Graduate School of International Management and a member of the Senior Advisory Board at Harvard's Kennedy School, the Council on Foreign Relations in New York and the boards of Freedom House and Global Center for Dispute Resolution. She served on the President’s Advisory Committee on Trade Negotiations and for seven years was Chairman of the Arizona District Export Council. In 2001 she completed her two-year term as President of the International Women’s Forum, a 3,500-member global organization of top women achievers.

"Mrs. Barrett's business and personal travels have taken her to nearly 100 countries and she has met with more than 50 current or former heads of state. She has spoken and been published on the topic of business ethics, trade policy and corporate leadership.

"Mrs. Barrett earned her Bachelor, Master and Law degrees at Arizona State University. In 2000, she received a Doctorate of Humane Letters (Honoris Causa) from Arizona State University. In 1994, Barbara Barrett was a candidate for Governor of Arizona. In 1999 she received the Horatio Alger Association's Distinguished American Award." [1]
