The Association of National Advertisers (ANA) represents more than 400 companies nationwide to protect commercial free speech. The ANA website says that they "address legislative and regulatory issues, promote industry policies and practices, strengthen the marketing supply chain and align the marketing community towards solutions for societal concerns."[1]

Tobacco Advertising
The abbreviation for the Association of National Advertisers is ANA. ANA is a member of the Freedom to Advertise Coalition, which fought a bill by Ted Kennedy that would let states regulate cigarette ads on billboards and public transit (1991) (CDR 8/12/91). ANA also challenged BY state bill that would require free health messages at stadiums and on public property bearing tobacco ads (CDR 8/21/91).
