AMATIL is an acronym for Allied Manufacturing and Trading Industries Limited. In 1973 British American Tobacco Company changed its name to Allied Manufacturing and Trading Industries Limited and started using the acronym "AMATIL" to identify the Company. AMATIL included the tobacco company formerly known as W.D. & H.O. Wills Ltd..
