The Democracy Game

The Democracy™ Game "started as an idea for a board game, and later an electronic game, for young adults (ages 10 to 18) to learn something about the nature of modern politics while having fun moving pieces around, amassing and spending huge campaign funds, and devising winning strategies for campaigns and issues.

"At the time (November 2000), an Internet search revealed nothing of this kind was readily available. The original game design included a "Race for the White House" and other aspects of U.S. political campaigns. As of 2004, a number of other games have now begun to fill this somewhat limited role. But there remains little or nothing that corresponds to the other aspects of the democratic process, which were summed up under the heading of "A Republic Divided." Both aspects are included in the final Tournament Version." [1]
