David Lewis (lobbyist)

David Lewis is the head of communications for the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI), the peak drug industry lobby group.

PR Week reported "Lewis will be expected press ahead with ABPI campaigns for greater take-up of new medicines in the NHS and extra government investment in the pharma-ceutical industry."[1]

Prior to his April 2007 appointment to ABPI he worked as the corporate affairs director at Britvic. "He joined Britvic in late 2004, charged with communicating Britvic's stance on healthy eating and advertising to children among other issues. Before that, he was comms director at Unilever Ice Cream and Frozen Food," PR Week reports.[1]

Prior to working for Britvic, Lewis worked as head of communications for British Aerospace and as the corporate affairs manager at the Meat and Livestock Commission "where he handled fallout from the initial BSE crisis in 1989." [1]
