David Florendo is an internal lawyer for Philip Morris (PM). In 2000, Florendo was appointed Assistant General Counsel for Philip Morris Management Corporation, which provides legal services to PM. At that time, he reported to James R. Cherry, Jr., Associate General Counsel at Philip Morris Management Corp. Florendo came to PM from the industry law firm of Winston & Strawn, where he was a partner in the Litigation Section. Florendo works within PM's Legal Department and and with outside counsel in defending litigation against the company, with particular emphasis on discovery matters and cases filed by individuals. In 2000, Florendo worked out of PM's New York office.[1] He has been involved in reviewing confidentiality criteria for Philip Morris documents.[2]
