World Journalism Institute
The World Journalism Institute describes its role as being to "to recruit, equip, place and encourage journalists who are Christians in the mainstream newsrooms of America."[1]
The Institute grew out of discussions between Joel Belz, Marvin Olasky, Nick Eicher and Robert Case about the need to develop a training school for Christian journalists for God's World Publications, the publisher of the Southern Presbyterian Journal.[2]
The Institute's October 2008 conference in Kansas City featured keynote speaker Linda Chavez of the Center for Equal Opportunity, along with conservative "payola pundit" Armstrong Williams, sports writer Terry Pluto, columnist Steve Duin and Kathleen Parker. [3]
