Tenneco, formerly Tenneco Automotive and originally Tennessee Gas Transmission Company, is a publicly traded company that describes itself as "one of the world's leading designers, manufacturers and distributors of emission control and ride control products and systems for the automative original equipment market and the aftermarket."[1] It serves passenger car, light truck, on- and off-road commercial vehicles, locomotives and agricultural markets.[1]. The company became a standalone company in 2009[1] and is headquartered in Lake Forest, IL.[2]
In 2011, the Tenneco reported $7,205,000,000 in net sales and operating revenues.[3]
