Biographical Information

"Mahmoud Ali works as an advisor for the Egyptian Center for Development and Democratic Studies, which strives to spread liberal democratic values of tolerance and community participation in Egypt, especially among youth and women. For more than 23 years, he has been a political activist and a leader in the liberal Wafd party, and he has long experience in working with students and youth.

"He has participated in the administration of a number of projects in Egypt, the most important being those in support of the student movement, building future youth leadership, and observing elections in Egypt for the past five years, with the support of MEPI, USAID, NDI, and NED.

"He is also a member of the Egyptian Journalists' Union, as he has been working as a journalist for more than fifteen years at Al-Wafd newspaper, published by the liberal Wafd party. He is currently the editor of the political section of the newspaper’s weekly edition. " [1]
