The Investment Company Institute (ICI) is a trade association that represents U.S. investment companies by lobbying, channeling political contributions, and engaging in public relations on behalf of its members.[1] Members include such mutual fund companies as Fidelity Investments, Franklin Templeton, and Charles Schwab. [2]

Political contributions

In the 2005/2006 election cycle, the Investment Company Institute gave $670,102 to federal candidates through its Investment Company Institute Political Action Committee (ICI PAC) - 42% to Democrats and 58% to Republicans. [6]

In the 2007/2008 election cycle, as of December 2007, the institute gave $298,995 to federal candidates - 63% to Democrats and 37% to Republicans. [7]

Lobbying
